I like Music!!!!!

Rock on and on and on.

It is a fairly well known fact that only about 10% of all recorded music gets air play.  And in my estimation about 90% of that should never have been played.  There is an incrediable amount of excellent music  that is never heard by anyone except for those who buy an album (whoops, showing my age -CD/LP 45-33 1/3 rpm record/cassette tape/8-track tape, reel to reel, etc.  On this web they can all be used interchangeably) for the Top 40 song and then occasionally listen to the rest of the album.  If they have not been completely indoctrinated by the advertising media and numbed to tasteless, useless noise, they might recognize some amazing artistic work.  Almost all of the music produced today is designed to make mega $ for the recording companies and the artists.  Fortunately, to some extent it helps to finance the recordings of true musicians to put out their remarkable albums that only sell maybe 50,000 copies instead of the millions sold by the blonde bimbos and "boy" bands and hyped BS.

Back then musicians got together to play music, to make a musical political or social statement, to do it for the enjoyment of it and HEY they got rich and famous to boot.

So on these pages, I'll talk about some of the most amazing music you have never heard.

Here I will layout some of the concepts and ideas that were shaped by the music of my generation.  I'll discuss my favorite songs, albums, musical groups and artists of the past 40 years.  I'll describe the reasons why and trace some of the interplays between the groups and how they affected each other.  The musicians used to move from group to group and form collaborations and influenced each other and all the while contributing to their artistic work.

Not only does most of today's groups not know how to play instruments, what would a member of "Boys 2 Men" contribute to the "Back Street Boys" - a new way to wave their limp-wristed hands?

This is obviously a work in progress. I will add new groups and reviews (some my own, many copied directly from another reviewer).  I'll modify the existing reviews as I remember more information or find more accurate information in my research and put in various anecdotes from my own experience with the musical group under discussion.  I will review the albums in each groups discography as I get the time- so check back often.  One of the major things I am trying to do is follow through with the various hyperlinks for each group so that you can follow an artist through their career similar to how the Rock-It project will accomplish in a graphical data format.

I'll try to keep a What's New page up that will allow you to scan quickly any changes (jeesh... not that I don't have enough work to do now!)

We may go off on some tangents here and there, but what the heck............!
